Museum hours are Wednesday - Sunday, 11am to 5pm. Admission to the Hessel Museum of Art and adjoining CCS Bard Galleries is open to the public and free for all visitors. See what’s upcoming at the Hessel Museum of Art here.

The CCS Bard Library is open for walk-in visits from all current Bard College students, faculty, and staff. Outside researchers are welcome and are asked to contact us in advance to make an appointment. Please note that access to the CCS Bard Archives and Special Collections is by appointment only due to the fragile and unique nature of these materials.

Tours & Group Visits

Large groups (10 or more) are encouraged to reach out to us ahead of time so we can help arrange the details of your visit. Please email CCSvisits@bard.edu with the number of people in your group and the date and time you are planning to visit.

Access Information

CCS Bard and the Hessel Museum of Art are located in a single-level facility. If you have specific questions or requests about access, please write to CCSvisits@bard.edu at least two weeks before your visit or the event you plan to attend and we will make every effort to accommodate you.

During your visit, you may seek the assistance of Visitor Services staff members who are present at the CCS Bard reception desk and throughout the exhibitions. Please don’t hesitate to contact CCSvisits@bard.edu with any feedback about your visit.

CCS Bard and the Hessel Museum of Art are located on the campus of Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, about 90 miles north of New York City. Our street address is:

By Car

→

From New York City and southern Connecticut:

Follow I-84 to the Taconic State Parkway. Take the Taconic north to the Red Hook / Route 199 exit. Drive west on Route 199 through the village of Red Hook to Route 9G, then turn right onto Route 9G and drive north 1.6 miles. At the first light (Kelly Road), make a left, then bear right onto Annandale Road (Country Route 103) to enter the Bard campus. Follow the signs to CCS Bard / Hessel Museum.

From New Jersey and points south:

Take the New York State Thruway (I-87) to Exit 19 (Kingston). Take Route 209 (changes to Route 199 at the Hudson River) over the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge to Route 9G. At the second light, turn left onto Route 9G and drive north 3.5 miles. Once on the Bard campus, follow the signs to CCS Bard Hessel Museum.

From northern Connecticut:

Take Route 44 to Route 199 at Millerton. Drive west on Route 199, then proceed as if coming from NYC and southern Connecticut (see above).

From Massachusetts and northern New England:

Take the Massachusetts Turnpike to Exit B-2 (Taconic State Parkway). Take the Taconic south to the Red Hook / Route 199 exit, then proceed as if coming from NYC and southern Connecticut (see above).

By Train

→

Amtrak provides service from Penn Station in New York City and from Albany to Rhinecliff, about 9 miles south of Annandale-on-Hudson. Taxi service is available at the Rhinecliff station.
